youlovejassy asked: Man Gui is acting like a bitch he need to shut up -__-
Right! I kind of wanted her to slap him but I was being nice
Chapter 39
I was dragged out on Saturday night. Seeing as next Saturday I was going to be in New York, so I decided to make the best of it. I was greeted by a lot of people when I arrived at the club with Kierra and Trey. Almost everyone that I had ever meet was here, everyone but Chris.
“You are really leaving us?” Gui asked after giving me a hug.
“Yes, yes. I am leaving this beautiful place behind.”
“I’m gonna miss you!” Alicia wrapped me up in her arms.
I noticed some of Drake’s friends that I hadn’t seen since his funeral were here and Mijo was here, minus the whores luckily.
“Where is Chris?” I asked Mijo a little bit into the night.
“He didn’t think you wanted him here so he got some extra studio time.” I nodded my head and took a sip of my drink. “Did you want him here?”
“Oh no, no. I was just wondering. Everyone else is here and I was just curious.” I lied.
“I know we aren’t all that close but can I give you some advice?”
“Sure.” Everyone else does, so why stop now.
“Everyone says you are running but I say you are breathing. I get it. There is a lot of negative here and it’s time for you to fully move on how you want to move on. But don’t shut Chris out completely. You make him happier than anything and he still has some fight left in him for you. I would just hate to see two people who are so great together, completely ruin it.”
“Thanks Mijo, I really appreciate it.”
“I’ll miss you, truthfully.” He pulled me in for a hug and went and joined the rest of the people.
I, myself, was ready to just get drunk. For tonight I didn’t want to think about anything. Just have fun and enjoy my last weekend here. So with the help of a few patron shots, I was on my way to dancing the rest of the night away.
I woke up the next morning laying next to a random guy. I checked my surroundings to make sure I was in my bed, and luckily I was. I looked down and notice I was in nothing but a man’s shirt. The shirt I assumed belonged to the shirtless guy next to me. I thought hard but could not remember ever seeing this guy who was in my bed. I heard Kierra and Trey out in the living room. So I slipped out of bed, put some yoga pants on, and joined them out in the living room. They both smiled at me as I slowly sat down on the lounger. My head and my body were hurting me.
“Can someone please tell me who is in my bed?”
“You don’t remember?” Kierra said laughing.
“My memory is lacking most of the night.” They both started cracking up. “Come on guys, my head hurts.”
“I am so sorry you can’t remember. You were in rare form last night.” Trey said catching his breath.
“Great but that still doesn’t tell me who is in my bed.”
“He is an up and coming rapper. His name is Sean.”
“God, why do I like rappers so much.” They laughed harder. “What else did I do?”
“You and Alicia danced on the bar with some random girls for a long time. Some how you all ended up in your bras.”
“Oh god.” I hung my head.
“There were a lot of body shots too.” Trey added.
“I don’t need to know anymore.”
“Don’t worry, there are PLENTY of pictures.” Kierra said with a smile.
“Fuck me.” I got up to go check on Sean. He was just waking up.
“Where am I?” He asked rubbing his eyes.
“My apartment.”
He smiled big, “How could I forget?”
“You don’t mind telling me what happened last night, do you?” I sat next to him as he sat up. I was hoping for the best.
“I figured you wouldn’t remember.” He laughed. “You brought me back here after a lot of making out at the club. You started going down on me when you threw up on me.” I could feel my face turn red. “So while you continued to throw up in the bathroom, I showered. When you were done I didn’t want to go through your stuff so I just put my shirt on you and crashed here to make sure you were okay.”
“You have got to be the best guy on this earth.” I said, my face still red. “I am sooo sorry. Thank you so much. Can I make it up to you?”
“No,” he smiled. “I had a great time with you regardless.”
“I wish I could remember something.”
He started laughing, “I honestly have never seen a woman take so many shots. I am surprised you didn’t pass out sooner than you actually did.”
“I don’t know if that is a good thing. But, hey, my friends informed me that you are a rapper.”
“Trying to be at least.”
“Well, I know some people so if you get me a CD or something I can try putting in a word for you.”
“Are you serious?”
“It’s the least I can do for you.”
“I’d appreciate that.”
“Great. Do you need a ride home, where ever you live?”
“Yeah, I can get a cab though.”
“Nope, I’ll take you home. And you can give me that CD.”
“Sounds like a plan. You don’t mind if I have my shirt back though, do you?”
I laughed and then we both got ready and I took him home. On my way back I listened to his CD. He was good, really good. It was a bit rough but it was nothing a producer who knew what he was doing couldn’t fix. I knew who I wanted to show this to. So without thinking I took a different turn and headed to where I used to live.
Chris looked surprised when he saw me at the door. “Come in.” He said without hesitation. I walked in and noticed he hadn’t changed a single thing since I had left. This was going to be harder than I thought. I hadn’t actually thought about it fully. “Do you wanna sit?” He asked, pointing to the kitchen table. I sat down and he sat across from me. “What’s up? It’s really good to see you.”
“Why didn’t you come last night?”
“I didn’t think you wanted me there.”
“I need to tell you something?” I needed to do this.
“What?”
I was so nervous. I knew he’d be upset. “I brought someone home last night.” I blurted out.
“Oh.” Was all he said as he looked away from me.
“But nothing happened. I threw up on him and he just stayed to make sure I was okay.”
“Well we aren’t together so there isn’t much for me to say.”
“I don’t remember it.” He didn’t respond and still was avoiding eye contact with me. “I’m sorry.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong, Jen.” He said as he looked down.
“You are gonna hate me for the other reason I’m here.”
“What?”
“The guy I brought home, well he is a rapper.”
“And?”
“And I think with your vocals, you could take some of his songs to the next level. Same with your music and his rapping.”
“This is a joke, right?”
“No.”
“You want me to work with the guy you were going to sleep with but didn’t because you were too drunk.”
“When you put it that way..”
“You sound like a bitch?” he cut me off.
I was taken back by his honesty. “I just…”
“You just what? Thought you’d get my hopes up by coming here just to tell me you almost slept with some guy and now you want me to work with him?”
“I’m just trying to help.”
“Well stop! Who do you think you are?”
“I didn’t actually sleep with him.”
“The intention was there. That’s what matters.”
“I said I’m sorry.”
“No you said you were sorry for almost sleeping with him. Not for almost sleeping with him and then asking me to work with him.”
“I thought you’d be an adult about this.”
“Excuse the fuck out of me if I don’t want to be an adult about this.”
“Well I’m still giving Stan the CD.”
“I’d like you to leave.”
“Chris.”
“No. I’m always the bad guy. But I won’t be this time. So I need you to leave, now.”
“Fine.” I got up and looked at him. But he wouldn’t make eye contact with me. I walked out without him putting up a fight. Filled with anger I drove to the studio, hoping Stan was there. I saw his car when I pulled in. It’s like he lived here. He didn’t have a receptionist on weekends so I went straight to his office. He was sitting at his desk working on paper work.
“What did I do to get this visit.”
“A rapper, he goes by Big Sean. That’s my way of thanking you for getting me this job.” I set the CD on his desk. “It’s rough but good. Put Chris’ vocals on some songs and you could have a hit.”
“Are you okay, Jen? You seem upset.”
“It may take Chris some convincing but they would do well together.”
“I appreciate this but are you okay?”
“Yes. I gotta go though. I hope you like him.” I started to walk out.
“Jen!” Stan tried chasing after me.
“Honestly, I just need to go home. Let me know how it goes. His name and number are on the CD.”
“Okay. Thanks for this.” He sounded concerned but let me walk out.
I ran straight for my room when I got back home. I hadn’t broke down yet. But as soon as I laid my head on the pillow I cried myself to sleep.
“She did what?” I heard Kierra say to someone when I woke up from my nap.
“Chris is pretty upset.” I made the voice out to be Gui.
I was so mad at myself. I don’t get why I did it. I was so stupid.
Can we meet? I texted Chris.
Not really in the mood. He texted back instantly.
Please. Just give me a chance.
Fine. Beach. 5 minutes.
I hurried to make myself presentable and when I walked out of my room Kierra, Trey, Gui, and Alicia all stared at me.
“Where are you going?” Alicia asked.
“I’m going to talk to Chris.”
“Why would you do that to him? I heard Gui mumble.
“I wasn’t thinking. Now I’m gonna go fix it.” I didn’t let anyone else stop me from leaving.
He was already there when I arrived at the beach. He was standing looking at the ocean. I walked up next to him.
“I don’t really want to be here long.” I tried taking his hand but he pulled away. “You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to fuck up and then expect me to get over it by you taking my hand. I never get off that easy.”
“I know. I’m sorry.”
“What were you thinking?”
“I wasn’t thinking at all.”
“I’m so upset with you.”
“I understand.”
“Why would do this to me?”
“I just haven’t been thinking straight.”
“I understand that but to ask me to work with him?”
“It wasn’t fully thought through. But I did give his CD to Stan.”
“Seriously?”
“I was angry.”
“Angry at what?”
“I don’t know. You, myself.”
“I didn’t do anything.”
“I know that. I’m sorry.”
“You would have slept with him.”
“But I didn’t.”
“But you would have.” I didn’t say anything because I couldn’t truthfully answer. “If this was your way of getting even with me, well you did. You win. You hurt me. Congratulations.” His words were like knives stabbing me in my heart.
“Chris, I don’t remember last night.”
“So that just excuses your actions? As well as your sober ones?”
“Well no but I want to try working this out.”
“Why? You sure as hell didn’t want to last night.”
“When I woke up this morning I was upset with myself and upset that it wasn’t you next to me.”
“I don’t know, Jen.”
“Lets go somewhere tonight. Just the two of us.”
“Just come stay at our place for the night.”
“I can do that.”
“Give me 30 minutes then come by.”
“Thank you.”
“I’ll see you soon.”
“I love you.” I said before we parted.
The 4 of them were still in the living room, waiting for me.
“So,” Alicia said as soon as I walked in.
“I’m going to stay with him tonight.”
“Excuse me?” Gui said shocked.
“We are going to spend the night together.”
“Wow.” Gui said under his breath.
“Do you have a problem?”
“Yeah. What you did to him is my problem.”
“Don’t get involved Gui.” I told him.
“What you did was fucked up.”
“You don’t think I get that.”
“I wouldn’t give you the time of day.”
“Alright Gui, that’s enough.” Trey came in for my defense.
“I get what I did was wrong but in a week I’ll be gone so it won’t matter.” I went into my room and started packing for the night.

Chapter 38
“So you are really moving?” Trey said walking into my room at Kierra’s.
“Yes I am.”
“I don’t want you to go.”
“I will miss you the most, if that counts.”
He gave a friendly smile, “Not so much.”
“We will both miss you.” Kierra joined our conversation as she hugged me from behind. “I was really looking forward to having you as my roommate.”
“Hey when I get money and a bigger place maybe you can come be my roommate.”
“Hey, you have no right to take my girlfriend from me. She isn’t going any where.” Trey got defensive.
We both giggled. “I will come visit you, believe that.” Kierra said.
“I’m looking forward to that.” I smiled.
Kierra’s phone rang and me and Trey were alone in my room. “Can I ask you something?” He said hesitantly.
“You just did.”
“Fuck off.”
I laugh, “Anything.”
“Are you taking this job to get away from Chris?”
“I’m taking the job for myself. It has nothing to do with him.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“You don’t have to,” I snapped knowing he was right.
“No need to get snippy. Just trying to talk to my best friend.”
“Let’s talk about something else then.”
“One more thing and then I’ll move on.” I stood there quietly waiting for him to continue. “I know that you know a part of you is running from him and you will come to terms with it on your own. But you can’t run forever. There is a good possibility you will run into him later on in both of your careers. So don’t be ignorant to the fact that moving to New York doesn’t mean he is out of your life for good.”
“Can’t I just enjoy this without having to think of him?”
“Now that I said my peace, yes.”
“Great.” I said with a slight attitude.
“Are you going to go see Stan before you leave to thank him?”
“Yeah I planned on going tomorrow.”
“You need me to go with you?”
“I’d appreciate that.”
“Good, I need to spend all the time I can with my best friend before she becomes some big hot shot in New York.” He took me in for a hug. I laughed and hugged him back. I was going to miss him.
The next morning Trey went with me to Stan’s office. I was praying Chris wasn’t going to be there but I knew that was stupid. I walked in a saw a girl sitting where I used to sit.
“Can I help you?” She said as we walked in.
“Yeah, I’m here to see Stan.”
“Well do you have an appointment?” She said with an attitude.
“No, I don’t need one.” I matched her attitude.
“I’m sorry you can’t see him then. You need an appointment.”
“You go ahead and tell him Jen is here to talk to him and watch what he says.”
She looked at me for a moment and then called to Stan reluctantly. “He said to go back to his office.”
“That is what I thought.” Trey sat down and as I walked back to his office. So far no Chris.
“Like your new replacement?” Stan asked when I sat down in the chair on the other side of his desk.
“Not so much. She is a bit of a bitch.”
“I think you may be a bit biased.”
“Maybe.”
“I liked coming in to see you more than her though.”
I smiled, “Thank you Stan.”
“No need to thank me. Your tits are nicer than hers.”
“Oh my god. That isn’t what I meant.”
He let out a big laugh, “I know. I just wanted to lighten the mood. Not make this anything sad.”
“Like I was saying, thank you for everything. You did more than you needed to for me and I appreciate that more than I can express.”
“You’re welcome. Just don’t let me down.”
“I won’t.”
“I know that. I’ll miss you around here. A lot of people will.”
“I’ll miss everyone too but I’m excited for this opportunity.”
“Jen I do need to apologize for putting a rift between you and Chris.”
“What you did isn’t why I broke up with him. Him not thinking before he talks is why I am not with him anymore. Him doubting me, doubting us is why I left him.”
“Either way, you two were great together.”
“All great things must come to an end. But I gotta get going though. I just wanted to stop by and thank you for this.” I got up and put my hand out to shake his hand. But he came around his desk and gave me a hug. I was more than surprised. He let go and I walked towards the door with a single tear falling down my cheek.
“Jen, I hope you know you will run into Chris. So I hope you aren’t doing this to run away from him.”
“This isn’t about him. It’s about me moving on with my career and my life.”
“I know but he will see him even though you are moving across the country. And I don’t want you to..”
“I’m not running. I get that everyone is so concerned about me but me and him are done. If I run into him. I run into him. We aren’t meant to be and I’m not going to worry about it.” I said not letting him continue with this conversation any longer.
“Okay, okay I get it. Just have fun and good luck. I will be seeing you up there.”
“Thanks again.” I said smiling and walking out. When I got back to the front I saw Chris talking to Trey. I was hoping I could get out of there without having to talk but I wasn’t so lucky.
Chris
I saw her walking towards me and Trey. I knew she didn’t want to talk to me but I knew I needed to, at least for Christian’s sake.
“Jen, can I talk to you.”
“Do we really have to?” She said trying to avoid me.
“It’s about Christian.”
“Fine.” She followed me into our break room. “Can we make this fast.?” She said as soon as she shut the door.
“You hate me that much?”
“No I don’t hate you but I’m not your biggest fan either.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I didn’t come back here for apologies.”
“Ok well first congratulations on your new job. You will do great.”
“Thanks.”
“But what I really need to talk to you about is Christian.” I handed her the picture he drew. I saw her face go from irritation to heart broken in seconds.
“What is this, Chris?”
“Christian drew that of us.”
“I had no idea.”
“That makes 3 of us.” She continued to look at the picture. “Look you can hate me all you want.”
“I don’t hate you,” she whispered, cutting me off.
“Well you can be mad at me all you want but Christian is taking this hard. He tried kicking my ass. He told me I was taking you away from him.”
“I have been so selfish. I didn’t even think about him. I feel so horrible.”
“Don’t. Neither of us did.”
“But we should have.”
“It was an honest mistake. But before you leave, can you talk to him?”
“Yeah, of course.”
“He didn’t go to school today so if you are free you can over there today.”
“I’ll head there now.” I could see her eyes starting to tear up.
“We couldn’t have seen this, Jen.”
“I never once thought about this would make him feel. I didn’t take him into consideration about anything.”
“That doesn’t make you a horrible person.”
“But I feel like one.” I took one of her hands and wiped away her tears with my other hand.
“It’s okay. You have had a lot on your mind. We both have.”
“I don’t want him to hate you or be mad at you.”
“Me and him will get through it.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s my fault so don’t be sorry. I have to pay the price of my actions.”
“But I know that has to hurt you and I don’t want you to hurt.” She looked me into my eyes and all I wanted to do was kiss her but I refrained myself.
“This is my karma, I have to deal with it.” She didn’t say a word, she just pressed her lips softly against mine. Her tears mixed in with our kiss. My heart was racing and I didn’t want to stop. But she pulled away.
“I shouldn’t have done that.”
“Jen…”
“No, I shouldn’t have done that. I’m sorry. I need to go now.” She walked towards the door.
“Jen, please.”
“It was stupid.”
“I love you.” I said before she could leave the room. She didn’t turn around but I could see her take a deep breath.”
Without looking at me she said her final good bye, “I wish you the best of luck with your career. Don’t give up on your talent because you have a lot. Thanks for everything.” She turned around to face me. Tears were running down her face. “Goodbye, Chris.”
“Jen!” She walked out without turning back.
Jen
Later that day after I dropped Trey off at his place I prepared myself as I drove over to see Christian and Joyce. The drive over I played over in my head what I would say. His drawing was on my passenger seat. My mind was every where. I got to their house and walked to the door slowly. His drawing in my hand I knocked on the door. A few seconds later Joyce opened it. It was a relief to see her face.
“This is a pleasant surprise. Come in please. Christian will be happy to see you.” I smiled and walked in. I sat on the couch and took a deep breath.
“Want anything to drink?”
“No thank you. I am here to talk to you and Christian.”
“I’ll go get him.” Moments later Christian was running towards me with the biggest smile and jumped on me and hugged me.
“Jen! You came!”
“Of course I did. I’ve missed you!”
“I thought I’d never see you again.”
“How could I not see the most handsome face in this world?” He smiled and sat next to me. Joyce sat in a chair by us.
“Does this mean you and Chris are back together?”
“I actually wanted to come talk to you about a few things. Me and Chris did talk today but he talked to me about you and showed me something.” I showed him his drawing. He looked away. “You are a pretty good artist, just like your uncle.” He didn’t say anything. “Can we talk about this?”
“No!” He got up and ran to his room and slammed the door.
“I guess I should have left that for last.” I looked at Joyce.
“I think if anyone can get to him, it’s you.” I nodded my head and walked back to Christian’s room. I didn’t bother knocking, I just walked in. He was sitting at his play table and I sat on his bed.
“Christian, you know I love you with all my heart, right.”
“You weren’t suppose to see that picture!”
“Bud, I love that picture!”
“You do?”
“So much. Can you please come sit with me?” He came and sat next to me. “That picture means a lot to me.”
“Really?”
“Yes. You mean the absolute world to me.”
“But you broke up with Chris.”
“Yes but that doesn’t mean I don’t love you.”
“But you don’t love him?”
“I always will. We just aren’t right for each other. But I still love you. I always will.”
“Promise?”
“Cross my heart.” He hugged me tightly. Now can we go back with your mom because I still have to talk to you both.” He agreed and we walked back in the living room. “Joyce there is something I need to talk to you both about.” I said sitting back down.
“We are listening.”
“I got a new job.”
“That’s great!” Joyce cut me off.
“But it’s in New York.”
“NEW YORK!!” Christian screamed. “That means I will never see you again!”
“I will be coming back here to visit and maybe you guys can come visit me. I can show you around the city and see all the cool stuff up there.”
“I don’t want you to leave!”
“I don’t want to leave you because I’ll miss you but I have to go.”
“I’m happy for you, Jen.” Joyce said kindly.
“Can I go with you?” Christian asked.
“I can’t take you away from your grandma and Chris.”
“I want to be with you though.”
“Look I would love to move you guys with me but I can’t. But what I can do is call you every week and maybe I can teach your grandma here how to skype and we can do that so I can see you. We will work things out, I promise.” He hugged me tighter than before.
“When do you leave?” Joyce asked.
“In a week.”
“Oh wow, that’s soon.”
“Yeah I know. It’s going to be a crazy week. But I would like to see you guys before I leave. Maybe get some dinner.” Christian nodded. “Sounds like a plan?” I asked him.
“Yes.” I could hear the sadness in his voice.
“Another thing, Christian.”
“I don’t want you to hate your Uncle. He loves you very much and it hurts him that you are mad at him.”
“But he took you away from me.”
“I’m right here, buddy. I will never leave you. I’m always going to want to be apart of your life no matter what. You can’t be mad at him.”
“Okay. I will stop being mad at him.”
“Thank you.” I kissed his forehead. “But I have to get going. I have a lot to do.”
“I bet you do. Thank you for coming by.” Joyce said as we both stood up.
“I will call you guys about dinner.” Joyce hugged me close. Then I picked Christian up. I gave him a kiss and a big hug. “I love you so much, Christian.”
“I love you too.” I put him down. “I want you to have this.” Christian handed me his drawing.
“Thank you. It means a lot to me.” I gave him one last hug and left. I started driving home but I ended up driving to the beach. The one place I knew I could clear my head.
I left my phone in the car and sat on the beach. I was thankful not many knew about this part of the beach. It was a lot easier to think. I thought about my kiss with Chris. I wanted to kiss him again and again. I was fooling myself if I denied that. I took in my scenery. I was going to miss this place. A lot. My heart starting hurting thinking about leaving this all behind. Trey and Stan were right, a part of me was doing this to run away from Chris. It was hard knowing how easily it could be to run into him here. It hurts to see him because he is a big part of me. And if I stay here longer I will stop being mad at him and I just wasn’t ready for that. There was just so many bad memories here. I was ready to start over some where new.
“I had a feeling you’d be here.” I heard Chris’ voice behind me. My heart jumped out of my chest.
“What are you doing here?” He sat next to me.
“I wanted to thank you for talking to Christian.”
“It needed to happen.”
“He told me you told him not to be mad at me. You didn’t have to do that.”
“No need for him to be mad about something no one else should be involved in besides us.”
“Can we talk about today?”
“I really don’t want to.”
“I really want to.”
“I shouldn’t have done it.”
“But you did.”
“It doesn’t matter. I’m still leaving.”
“We can make it work.”
“Chris…”
“Jen. I can’t do this without you.”
“Yes you can.”
“I don’t want to. I can handle being long distance but I can’t handle being without you.”
I was holding back tears. I couldn’t talk because I knew if I did I would start crying.
“Look I get how I acted was hurtful and childish. And I shouldn’t have brought Drake into this. But just give me another chance and I promise I won’t let it get in the way.”
“I don’t know.”
“Well that’s a step up from a no.”
I laughed. “I just have a lot going on in my head.”
“And I want to be next to you while you work it out.”
“You are always saving me.”
“I don’t know if this counts because I’m the reason you are here in the first place.”
“Very true. But you never run away.”
“I won’t run away from you.” I laid my head on his shoulder and he kissed my forehead.
“We are quite a pair, aren’t we?”
“I’d like to think we are.”
“Can I think about this? It changes now that I’m leaving.”
“I’ll let you think about it if you let me kiss you.” I didn’t respond. I let him take my face in his hands and when he saw I wasn’t going to push him away he kissed me with passion. I could feel his smile in the middle of kissing. He stopped to take a breath and I pulled him back in. His kiss was something my heart could never deny.
